Stara Praha je plna strasidel a pribehu. K Uvozu - jedne z nejstarsi prazske komunikaci spojujici Strahovsky klaster s Malou Stranou - se jich vaze nekolik. My se tady na tomto miste u zdi strahovske vinice budeme soustredit na mnicha. Kdysi davno navecer byl mnich ze Strahovskeho klastera zavolan na Malou Stranu k umirajicimu muzi. Ale mnich prilis nepospichal, mel rad vinko, dobre jidlo a jeste k tomu karty. Kdyz se najedl a dohral particku, teprve pote vsedl na kone a tryskem uhanel z kopce Uvozem. Ale bylo jiz pozde, nestastny muz prave zemrel. Jeho duse proletela vzhuru Uvozem a tklive zastenani vystrasilo kone, takze ten pri trysku klopytl a mnich vyletel ze sedla primo na zed strhovske vinice a urazil si hlavu. Od te doby za trest musi projizdet ulici a hledat ji.

Old Prague is full of ghost tales. On this place scares headless monk. Street Uvoz is one of the oldest roads in Prague. It connects Strahov Monastery and Lesser Town. It is also brae, because monastery is on the top of the hill and Lesser Town is down on the bank of Vltava river. Veeeery long time ago one evening was monk from Monastery called to the dying man from Lesser Town. But monk didn't hurry, he liked wine, good food and playing cards. Only after he finished supper and played out the card, he rode on horseback down the street to help the man. But it was too late, man at the moment died and his soul flew up the street with a pained cry. It scared monk's horse very much, in the sharp run horse stumbled and monk fell directly onto the wall of vineyards and insulted his head. And since then he has to ride up and down the street and look for his head.
