Today the upping stone is a plant stand but its origins can not be mistaken as it lies by the side of a barn in the stable-yard.
This well preserved farmhouse is now home to a series of shops in its grounds. It attracts the crowds with a good restaurant, lambing time at the farm and high quality goods.
The farmhouse dates to 1685 and is made from limestone, consistent with the area. Ironstone is also apparent in the 19th century additions above the first floor windows. A datestone appears on the front of the house together with a sundial by the door.
