The Earth Cafe and Deli is a small restaurant located on the north side of the University of Oklahoma campus. It is nestled among many other restaurants in "Campus Corner".
The menu is mostly vegetarian, with many vegan options. A nice assortment of baked goods is on the counter display, and many of those items are vegan. Organic espresso is available, and the fruit smoothies can be made with apple juice, soy milk, or both.
For those vegetarians that consume dairy, it is good to know that free-range eggs are used in the kitchen.
The dining area is small, but we've never had a problem finding a seat. This place can be very busy, even when classes aren't in session. Take-out is available.
The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. IF you have any questions about the menu don't hesitate to ask them. Since we discovered this restaurant a few months ago, it has become a favorite of my two teenagers. We highly recommend a visit to this wonderful establishment.
*****The menu shown in the photo gallery is one I picked up in March, 2011. Menu selection and prices may not be the same when you visit the restaurant.
*****As of Jan. 2012, The Earth has moved to a new location, in the building to the west. The coordinates posted will still get you to the restaurant very easily. The new location has a much larger dining area, and instead of ordering yourself there is not waitstaff.
***June 2014: The Earth Cafe and Deli has moved back to its original location, at their Natural Food Store on Flood, next to Lion's Park. The coordinates have been updated to reflect the change.
