Der Soldatenfriedhof St. Veit bildet ein selbständiges Gräberfeld anschließend an den Stadtfriedhof St. Veit an der Glan. 456 Gefallene des Ersten Weltkrieges, davon 429 untrennbar im Kameradengrab, und 762 Tote des Zweiten Weltkrieges ruhen auf dieser Anlage.
Die Toten des Ersten Weltkrieges sind überwiegend vom Stadtfriedhof umgebettet, während die Gefallenen des Zweiten Weltkrieges aus den verschiedensten Grablageorten der Gemeinden Kärntens in den Jahren 1974 und 1975 überführt wurden.
Die Einzelgräber sind mit Natursteinkreuzen, die auf jeder Seite die Namen von zwei Gefallenen tragen, gekennzeichnet, während liegende Grabzeichen auf die Toten des Ersten Weltkrieges hinweisen.
Die Umbettungsarbeiten wurden vom Volksbund Deutscher Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V. durchgeführt.
Das Kerzendenkmal wurde vom Akademischen Bildhauer Heinz Glawischnig im Auftrag des Österreichischen Schwarzen Kreuzes, Landesgeschäftsstelle Kärnten, entworfen.

The cemetery of St. Vitus is an independent cemetery adjoining the city cemetery of St. Veit an der Glan. 456 casualties of the First World War, including 429 in the inseparable companions grave, and 762 dead of World War II rest on this system.
The dead of the First World War are mostly from the city cemetery reburied, while the fallen soldiers of World War II from various parts of the grave situation in Carinthia communities were transformed in the years 1974 and 1975.
The individual graves with stone crosses that bear on either side the names of two fallen soldiers, said while lying grave signs point to the dead of the First World War.
The Umbettungsarbeiten were carried out by the German War Graves Commission.
The candlelight memorial was by the academic sculptor Heinz Glawischnig on behalf of the Austrian Black Cross, the country office Carinthia designed.
