Der Fluss Manavgat entspringt im westlichen Taurusgebirge und fließt durch die Stauseen Oymapinar (185 Meter hoch) und Manavgat über die Manavgatwasserfälle und die Stadt Manavgat. Der Fluss dient zur Trinkwasser- und Stromgewinnung. Im unteren Flussverlauf wird er von Ausflugsbooten befahren. Die Wassermenge variiert stark mit den Jahreszeiten und beträgt durchschnittlich 147 m³ pro Sekunde. Im Frühjahr werden bis zu 500 m³ pro Sekunde erreicht.
Green Canyon wird der Teil vom Ursprung (Koordinaten des Waypoints) bis zum Stausee Oymapinar genannt.
Mit einem der zahlreich angebotenen Bootsausflüge kann man bis fast an die Quelle des Manavgat heranfahren und das türkisblaue Wasser geniessen.
Die türkisblaue Färbung des Flusswassers, vor allem im Frühling deutlich zu erkennen, ist auf das Mitführen unterschiedlicher Mineralien im Flusswasser zurück zu führen.
Der Manavgat ist 93km lang und er ist der größte Fluss in der Region Antalya.

Turquoise water and mountains - Unspoilt nature all around
The Manavgat River originates in the western Taurus Mountains and flows through the reservoirs Oymapinar Manavgat (185 m) and the Manavgat Manavgatwasserfälle and the city. The river is used for drinking water and electricity. In the lower river course it is used by pleasure boats.
