Am Süd-Ende des Ortes Gomagoi, auf ca. 1450 m Seehöhe wurde die
Straßensperre errichtet. Die Sperre sollte den Einfallraum über das Stilfser-Joch sichern. Es wurde zwischen 1860 und 1862 erbaut.
Zu Kriegsbeginn wurde das Werk desarmiert und die Geschütze in Feldstellungen bzw. Kavernen verbracht.
Nach dem 1. Weltkrieg wurde das Werk im Zuge eine Straßenbegradigung in 2 Teile zerteilt, gestrichelte rote Fläche in der Mitte des Werks und dient nunmehr als Depot der Straßenverwaltung. Leider sind die Innenräume nicht zugänglich und die Gebäudeteile sind nicht gepflegt. So können Bäume und Sträucher auf den Dächern wachsen. und die Substanz langsam marode werden lassen.

At the South end of town Gomagoi, at about 1450 m above sea level, the
