Haus der Natur– ein Universalmuseum der Naturwissenschaften
Das Naturkundemuseum Haus der Natur besteht seit dem Jahr 1924. Seit seinen Anfängen überrascht es seine BesucherInnen mit einer modernen, lebendigen Museumsdidaktik, die sich mit den Jahren konsequent weiterentwickeln hat.
Heute präsentiert sich das Haus der Natur als „3-Sparten-Haus“ mit regionaler und internationaler Ausrichtung. Es umfasst das klassische Naturkundemuseum, hochwertige Zoo-Abteilungen und das umfangreichste Science Center Österreichs. Mit einer Ausstellungsfläche von mehr als 7.000 m² ist das Haus der Natur gegenwärtig das größte Museum Salzburgs.
Daneben spielt das Haus der Natur eine wichtige Rolle als Natur-Kompetenzzentrum für Stadt und Land Salzburg. Das neu gegründete Biodiversitätszentrum beherbergt die naturwissenschaftlichen Landessammlungen und führt eine umfangreiche Datenbank zur Dokumentation und Analyse der Tier- und Pflanzenarten in Stadt und Land Salzburg sowie im Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.

House of Nature is a universal museum of natural sciences
The Natural History Museum Museum of Natural History was founded in 1924. Since its inception, it surprises its visitors with a modern, living museum didactics, which has continued to develop with the years.
Today, the House of Nature "3-line house"with regional and international orientation. It consists of traditional natural history museum, zoo-quality departments and the most comprehensive science center in Austria. With an exhibition area of more than 7,000 square meters, the House of Nature is currently the largest museum in Salzburg.
In addition, the house plays an important role in nature as natural competence center for city and province of Salzburg. The newly established biodiversity center houses the country's scientific collections and maintain a comprehensive database for documentation and analysis of animal and plant species in the city and province of Salzburg and the National Park Hohe Tauern.
