This is the site of the Boy Scouts of America Fifth National Jamboree which celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Scouting. It is located in north Colorado Springs (which isnt's ranch land any more).

The location of the Jamboree was on the 2,000 acre ranch belonging to Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Johnson, within site of Pikes Peak and adjoining the Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs.
Excerpt from the History of Scouting - The 1960's
1960 - "During Scouting's Golden Jubilee Year, thousands of boys earned the 50th Anniversary Achievement Award. Some 56,378 Scouts and leaders attended the Fifth National Jamboree at Colorado Springs, Colo, July 22-28."
