The Poleski National Park was established by government order on 01 May, 1990. It covers only around 10.000 hectares and most of the area is water- peat bog. Although the wildlife is extremely rich, the diversity of habitats favours existence of numerous species of plants and animals.
The infrastructure serves educational and touristic purposes, an education center, nature trails, observation towers and other facilities are available for visitors.
The flora of the park is a major attraction. The most characteristic and valuable element is the vast peat bog.
