The Salmon Glacier is located on the Alaska-BC border and a viewing point can be accessed by the Granduc Road from Stewart, BC and Hyder, Alaska. The glacier's terminus blocks Summit Lake from flowing down the Salmon River. Most summers the lake drains in a catastophic flood when the ice melts enough to allow the lake water to flow under the glacier.
