The dome is in the middle of the cathedral. Around the outer ring of the dome are golden leaves that touch tip to tip.
The next level has murals of saint. Each mural takes up a little rectangle. Between each mural are ornamental columns.
In the middle of the dome is stained glass. The main color is a light blue. In the middle of the stained glass is IHS (monogram of the name of Jesus Christ.)
The dome dates back to 1885, while the church itself is from 1877. The cathdral bathilica is named after Joseph Alemany, Archbishop of San Francisco. It's the fifth cathedral in San Jose.
