"IL PONTE" - THE BRIDGE
This sculpture was a gift to the City of Fairbanks from the City of Fanano, Italy. The theme of the bridge is a structure built to give continuity to a road which would otherwise be interrupted, and a symbol of the friendship between the two communities - linked by the story of the intrepid emigrant from Fanano, Felice Pedroni (Felix Pedro).
The City of Fairbanks and the City of Fanano
are Sister Cities.
Artist - Luciano Dionisi
Felix Pedro was the gold prospector who discovered gold in the interior of Alaska which lead to the founding of Fairbanks.
