A fine cast iron water pump in the town of Hartfield, East Sussex. I was out walking a section of the High Weald Landscape Trail and came accross this fine pump. It has a date of 1831 on it. The pump has a handle and is good working order, and still pumps water. This water is not fit for human consumption, however, locals use the water to water their hanging baskets in the summer months. The pump is located in Church Street, just almost opposite The Anchor Inn public house.
