The "Gold Dome" was built in the 1960's when the park was developed to celebrate the Centennial of the Alaska purchase. The dome based on a Buckminster Fuller design measures 134 feet in diameter and 38 feet high. Since 1992 the building has been used by the Pioneer Air Museum.
