Located on Hill Avenue in downtown Spirit Lake, this art gallery has occupied the historic Walker Motor Company building since 2008. This “Emporium of Original Art” offers a variety work from nearly 30 talented local and area artists. Paintings, pottery, pastels, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, basketry, and sculptures are some of the mediums in the vast array of art to purchase. Art supplies are also available.
The building in which this art gallery is housed is an artwork in itself. Constructed in 1921, the Walker Motor Company fixed its name permanently in the glazed brick facing. It makes a striking entrance for the art gallery.
A Piece of Work is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer tourist season, but is closed on Mondays the rest of the year.
