The 'River Queen' is a mock paddle steamer boat that is a cafe, bar and restaurant.
In the afternoons and evenings the 'River Queen' cruises the Opawa River. Delicious food is served with wild game, and local fresh fish featured on the menu. A glass of Marlborough wine is a pleasant
When she is not cruising she is available dockside for coffee or wine.
The 'River Queen is popular as a wedding venue or other private functions.
Marlborough’s River Queen is moored at Beaver Station wharf, in Riverside Park, two minutes’ walk from the centre of Blenheim. She was purpose-built about 10 years ago to operate on the Opawa River. Although some 35 tonnes she only has a draft of 18 inches – the river is quite shallow in some places! The River Queen is a spacious vessel: she is licensed to carry 100 passengers plus crew.
