Tai Tam Reservoir is a group of reservoirs located in the Tai Tam Country Park. The reservoirs consist of Tai Tam Upper Reservoir, Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir, Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir and Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. The reservoirs are surrounded by Mount Butler, Jardines Lookout, Violet Hill and Mount Parker, with an extraordinary environment of peace and quiet. 22 Historic Structures of Tai Tam Reservoirs were declared as monuments.
The planning of the reservoirs is known as Tai Tam Scheme which was started early in 1872. Owning to economic recession and other problems, it was eventually completed in 1889 and started to supply water in 1917.
