Ng Fan Chau is an island outside the Shek O beach and next to Tai Tau Chau. Originally, Ng Fan Chau is a part of the Hong Kong Island. It became separated as an individual island after million years of weathering and erosion by the ocean. Viewing Ng Fan Chau at the frontage, one can identify 4 vertical joints stretching from the sea to the island. These joints are continuously enlarged by the sea erosion, making Ng Fan Chau looks like a loaf of bread being cut into pieces
