The church stands on the high shore of the Doubravka river just above beautiful, romantic, rocky valley of the river, which is named after Czech painter, who painted a lot of his famous pictures here - Chittussi valley.
A first written mentioned about a village Stusyne and St. Martin church comes from list of "papal tithes" from 1352. From architectonic point of view a presbytery of the church comes from 14th century, but aisle and its tower are younger. During Hussite's wars in 14th century village Stusyne went under, but the church of St. Martin stands here as the only wittness of the past. The church serves now for citizens of village Knežice, who take care for it and have here their cemetary.
