Preikestolen, or the Pulpit Rock, is a plateau 604 metres above sea level, in the Lysefjorden near Stavanger. It's one of the most popular tourist attractions in region (together with Kjerag).

The walk starts in the parking lot of Preikestolen (N 58° 59.475 E 006° 08.315 - 80 kr fee; coins & cards) and it's a 2-3 hour walk (plus return). The trail is well marked, and there are always lot's of visitors, but attention the height difference is about 350m.
