The Post office stands at on the square and has done within living memory. The Harrod & Co Directory of 1876 lists the Sub Post Mistress as E Haughton with the mail being delivered at 7 am and picked up at 5.30pm. It also held a Telegraph Machine as well.
The modern post office is still a stand alone office selling all sorts of mail paraphernalia and stationery. You can also purchase foreign currency and pay your bills.
