The Blennerville Windmill was originally built in 1800 by Sir Rowland Blennerhassett, 1st Baronet, the founder of Blennerville. The windmill fell into ruin by the mid-19th century. It was restored later in the 19th century and then closed again in the 1880s. It had fallen into ruins 1896. The windmill was purchased by the Tralee Urban District Council in 1981 and then restored as a tourist attraction.
