Radioactivity of the spring is caused by the presence of radon (222-Rn)dissolved in water. In the area of Orlické hory (Eagle Mountains) there are quite a lot of such springs. This spring, named later after ancient Slavonic prince Rostislav springs from the hillside in woods located southeastwardly from village Mladkov. In 1929 was the water from the spring studied and its medical healing properties were confirmed. In these times it was considered also to build spa in the village but the plans has never been realized.
