As with most small schools, they get merged with other schools in the area. The current St John’s primary school is in a new building more suited to modern teaching conditions and was opened in 2003.
This old school is now a multi-purpose building. At one end is a pharmacy; in the middle is a workshop for a stained glass business. It refurbishes old stained glass windows, but also takes on commissions for new pieces.
The other end is used by St John’s Church as a charity shop. The shop opened in April 2010 and the funds from the shop are used by the church itself, but also for community projects.
