The year was 1885 when they built the State of Boavista, which together with four other towers (or points) served to monitor the Pinhal do Rei
Point Boavista have a curiosity to be located outside the perimeter of Pinhal do Rei, the reason for that is related to the advantage of the altitude of the terrain and because apart from watching the pine trees, there your ruler transmitting signals to other jobs. These signals were transmitted through a banner at the top surmounted point and through the night signaling devices made of wood burning on top of Landlocked Lighthouses. The structure of the tower's point of Boavista is brick octagonal, with a spiral staircase (type beacon) and surmount the tower a sentry box, which until 1898 out of wood and was replaced on 25 June this year by a made of stone. Along the watch tower still has a small balcony.
Currently there are no more Landlocked Lighthouses in Portugal.
