The Memorial to Confederate Soldiers is located in East Hill Cemetery in Salem, Virginia. The Monument stands near the graves of Confederate Veterans, some of which are known and some remain "Known but to God". The inscription on the monument reads, "To Honor our Confederate Soldiers 1861 C.S.A. 1865." Erected by the Southern Cross Chapter U.D.C. May 30, 1935
