The small town of Xalisco in Nayarit Mexico should not be confused with the larger city of Jalisco in Jalisco State even though the pronunciation is identical.
These murals are painted on the stage in the main square- Hidalgo Plaza outside the town's City Hall. The murals depict the history of the indigenous peoples, their conflict with the Spanish and the prescence of the Catholic missionaries.
