Pohoda festival is an open-air summer music festival in Slovakia, first organized in 1997 in Trencín. It is one of the biggest Slovak music events organized annually - on second weekend of July. For several years use to start on Thursday evening and lasts till Sunday noon. The current venue is Trencín Airport.
The festival features alternative music, rock, pop, dance music, world music, house, techno, drum and bass, hip hop, but also theatre, discussions, chamber music, dance and literature workshops.
The actual record-high attendance is 33,000 people/day from 2009.
Most notable artists, which appeared on stages of Pohoda festival are Fatboy Slim, Patti Smith, Lamb, Travis, Basement Jaxx, Air, The Prodigy, Joan Baez, Garbage, Klaxons, Editors, Razorlight, Pendulum, Unkle, Fun Lovin Criminals, The Subways, The Wailers, Lou Rhodes and many many others. Festival is extremely accepted and popular for many kinds of public, thanks to a positive atmosphere it spreads around.
