It has a curious legend ... It is said that in the past was planned completion and it was virtually impossible because of delays in its construction. However, one of the workers called upon the devil and made a deal ... his soul in exchange for seeing the work completed the next day.

At dawn, the bridge was completed but the character he repented of the bargain ...

Xinca lordship of Santa Rosa, was the most gallant and brave during the Spanish conquest in the sixteenth century. The conqueror Pedro de Alvarado took them as slaves for the military reduction in the current Cuzcatlán Republic of El Salvador. From this we derive the name of the town, the river and the bridge Slaves in the municipality of Cuilapa. There is evidence that these Indians were the first slaves were formally assigned by the conquerors in the place that now bears that name.
