Vanslyke's dairy farm is located on Lamont Rd. It was established in 1832 and is still family operated 179 years later.

The Van Slykes have been farming since 1832. The fifth generation, Ken and Onalee Van Slyke, were the first to turn the farm's focus onto dairy. Besides milking 1,250 cows, the Van Slykes farm about 2,000 acres of land. Now the seventh generation is a big part of the farm and have shown many promising improvements. The farm has won several awards on its farming practices the, Wyoming County "Conservation Farm of the Year." as well as the Agricultural Environmental Management Award to name a few. Besides just farming they have tried to stay ahead in technology and have recently started operating Bessie's Best compost.
With 1,250 cows, they installed a manure separation system it has cut the farm's manure volume by 25 percent. Bessie's Compost is organic, stable and much less smelly than liquid manure. Bessie's Compost is sold in bulk or bags.
