The MBTR has been in its present location for at least several decades. It is situated in a 'classy' area of the City of Perth—on the Swan River foreshore, opposite the University of Western Australia, close to the Royal Perth Yacht Club and surrounded by the more expensive suburbs of city. The foreshore here is also a popular swimming, boating and general recreation spot, and very attractive.
The Tea Rooms are a standalone structure, not overly large, with both indoor and outdoor seating for ~75 people. There are a range of menu items available, breakfast, lunch and early dinner is served (though only a small range of vegetarian selections). To be entirely frank, the food, while tasty, is not the very best I have ever consumed. Still, a pleasant locale to unwind and watch the world pass by.
