St. Colman's Cathedral

Foundation stone laid in 1868
Completed 1916
Architects: Ashlin and Pugin

Photographs taken from the tenders to the Titanic show the Cathedral without its spire.  Today the spire contains the largest carillon in Ireland or Britain.  It has 49 bells the largest weighing 3.6 tonnes.
