The bright orange palm tree stood out against the winter sky to catch my attention as I drove by Bev’s On the River, a Hilton Inn restaurant located on the edge of Chris Larson Park. A closer look showed companion wired trees in red, green and blue towering over picnic tables along the pier. While it’s uncommon to see any kind of palm trees this far north, these electric decorative trees certainly looked out of place sitting in the snow. 111 Larson Park Road, Sioux City, IA.
