The romantic valley in the middle reaches of the Bílý Potok (White Stream) with the highest waterfall in the Šumava mountains (Bohemian Forest) lies about 4 km south of the small village Hojsova Stráž and 10 km north-east of the town Železná Ruda.
The nature reserve Bílá Strž (White Flume) was founded for the protection of the 14 m high waterfall and of the Bílý Potok stream valley called Bílá Strž. The remains of the cold rainforest are preserved on the slopes of the valley.
The valley with the nature reserve can be found on the red marked path, which leads from Špicák mountain above Železná Ruda (about 5 km) or from Cerné Jezero (Black Lake, about 4 km). The blue sign, which connects the red one leading to the valley, runs from the railway station in Hojsova Stráž (about 12 km) through the small village Hamry (about 7 km).
