I.S.N. is the Portuguese official organization for maritime rescue. This station, located in the town of Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the southwest coast of Portugal, has been there since I can remember, which means, at least since 1970.
Conveniently located in the mouth of river Mira, it has as its mission to help people who use the surroundings beaches as well as small boats in difficulties in the open sea.
