The Annalakshmi restaurant is one of the older vegetarian restaurants in Perth. It is located in a scenic part of the city, on the Swan River jetty, which is a major tourist and recreational site. River cruises, flights, holidays, souvenirs, food and drink can all be found here.
The restaurant itself is located on the 1st floor (ground floor, first floor) of the western jetty building (picture in gallery). Entry via stairs or lift. The food is vegetarian Indian, served in a buffet, on metal plates. The range on offer is not huge, maybe a dozen or more items, however, the food is always tasty and fresh. The food is unlabelled, most is vegan, the staff will answer any questions about the food.
Here is the thing: the restaurant is run by volunteers, you eat, you pay what you think is fair, and the profits go to fund art groups and activities. So, you pay, after you eat, what you believe is fair. (I normally look at au$10 per serve). The only drawback, imo, is that the only coffee available is instant! No cappuccino, no flat whites. The only other drawback is that at busy times it can be very busy. Bookings are available. No booze, no smoking.
Over the years, I have visited this restaurant many times. There is always a pleasant atmosphere, the food is always good, and always a good time. Recommended on your visit to Perth, Western Australia.
