Wasdale cheese is a small operation, run along side the camping barn at Murt, between Nether Wasdale and Wastwater (lake). Four varieties of hand made cheese, named after Wasdale fells, are produced from local unpasteurised cows and sheep's milk. The cheeses are used in several recipes and for cheese boards by the nearby pubs. Cheeses are also available to purchase from Murt and other local sources.
