In reality this is a replica of the boat, built to the exact likeness of the original, which adds to the other replicas of boats that tend to be reflected on the sand.
The "Mimosa" was a boat's auxiliary trawler, which was transporting the fish from the area of the old buoys, offshore, and the beach, where he was pulled by traction. Here, the fish was unloaded and transported to the auction.
The recovery of "Mimosa" is part of a program of preservation of old fishing vessels developed by the city of Nazareth, in partnership with the Ethnographic Museum and Archaeological Dr. Joaquim Manso.
In the case of "Mimosa", could not save the original vessel, due to its advanced state of decay. The replica was built at the yard of Antonio Luis Junior, one of the few masters of traditional shipbuilding still active in Nazareth. Drawing on ancient techniques, was used pine nut (on the wheel and counter the stem, ribs and curved pieces) and pine angry (on the side, straps, linings and countertops), from the area of Kos / Juncal.
The ferry "Mimosa" has an approximate weight of four tons, with 10.20 m long, 3.30 m in breadth (width) and 1.10 m of depth (height).
The Municipality of Nazareth points aimed at "preserving the traditional old fishing vessels of Nazareth, returned to the memory of the beach boats who once populated and contribute to the preservation of local culture as a maritime0.
