Borj Nord means "north fort". That's where this museum, ran by the Moroccan army is installed: the north fort of Fes.

I bumped into this museum almost by accident, trying to explore Fes behind its "medina" (old city). I knew there was a fort there as I could see it and once I got to the place I noticed there was a military museum established there. I wasn't excited about it, but in the end it was a positive surprise. First of all, you can visit the exhibition without the usual "shadows" following around the guests as they are potential terrorists. I visited the many rooms of the museum and saw nobody but a couple other tourists.
The displays are well organized, the spaces are clean and properly arranged, I even dare to day "modern", despite the fact that we are talking about a fortress from the 16th century. Unfortunately there are no captions in English, but those who can understand French will have access to some information about the collection.
It is possible - and highly recommended - to access the roof of the fortress and wander around there, observing Fes from different perspectives. Actually the views from up there are outstanding.
Overall, there are more than 5000 different arms in the collection which include 775 military items. All these articles are displayed in a serious of 13 different rooms and collections include everything from pre-historic weaponry to modern day rifles. The collection is also not limited to only Moroccan artifacts and includes Indian, European and Asian articles.
