Tank T-34 byl vyvinut v 30. letech minulého století, jako objednávka za vysloužilou radu BT.
Mel splnovat všechny požadavky, které se na toho bojové vozidlo kladly, tj dostatecnou rychlost, vysoké pancerování, mobilita a predevším silná palebná síla.
První dva stroje byly vyrobeny v roce 1940 a byly predány k testu rudé armády. Do operace Barbarossa, kdy nacistické nemecko napadlo Sovetský svaz, mela rudá armáda k dispozici 1225 tanku.
Drtivá vetšina jich byla poslána práve na obranu proti nepríteli na Západní fronte.

Tank T-34 was the 30th developet of the last century, as the order number as a retired BT.
