The stone cross dates to late 12th century early 13th century. It is thought that In 1188 it thought that Giraldus Cambrensis, the archdeacon of Brecon and Archbishop Baldwin stood alongside this cross when they came to the parish to preach of the Third Crusade. The cross stand about 8-foot tall. The cross is in very good condition due to the fact the church could not be found when the order for the destruction of all church crosses was given in 1547. The cross is listed as a Grade II* structure by Welsh Heritage.
