This statue is situated in Locke Park, Barnsley. Joseph Locke 1805-1860 moved to Barnsley from Sheffield at the age of five. He had an extensive involvement in the building and development of the railways at that time, including the Woodhead Tunnels under the Pennines.

This is a bronze statue mounted on a square marble plinth surrounded by a balustrade. The figure has one arm across his chest and holding some papers in the extended left hand; situated a short distance in from the park main gate in Park Road.
1866 by Baron Marochetti, and is GradeII listed
