Although the quarry is active an old section of the quarry is accessable though an open gate, there's even a geocache there.
There is another quarry on the opposite side of the road but it doesn't allow any good observation points like this one.
If you visit be sure to visit the old sections of the quarry, accessed from S37°50.165 E140°40.414.
