EXPO PARK
Daejeon, Korea
The 1993 International Exposition in Daejeon, with the theme "The Challenge of a New Road of Development," attracted over 14 million visitors from around the world. It featured the world's largest IMAX theater, the landmark Hanbit Tower, and many space and science themed exhibits.
Many of the venues have been preserved as museums and other attractions, and the adjoining Kumdori Land amusement park helps draw visitors to this outstanding site.
This towering arch with it's large stainless steel globe is the passageway into the main plaza as one walks past scale models of the planets.
The design of this globe is reminiscent of the Unisphere of the 1964 New York Expo, although I have been unable to find any details as to its design, architect, or construction.
