A stone carved Clock tower on the market place a gift from an american citizen George W Childs of Philadelphia to the town of Shakespeare In the Jubilee year of Queen Victoria.

This is a lofty pyramidal structure of Peterhead granite and hard freestone. It possesses a peal of bells, and is the design of J A Cossins of Birmingham.
A carved eagle holds a shield with the stars and stripe whilst the lion has a shield with the english quarter emblems engraved.
At one time it had water troughs fountains but these are now filled with plants.
