This Seth Thomas Clock was erected not only as a symbol of the sister city relation between Seongdong-Gu, a borough of Seoul, Korea, and Cobb County, Georgia, but as a memorial to Mrs. Pyungin Park by her family.

왕십리 사랑의 시계탑



This clock is located in a lovely park in front of the main entrance to the main Wangsimni train and subway station, and its overlying shopping mall. There is a dedication plaque in both English and Korean, and a memorial poem to Mrs. Park in Korean.



Wangsimni Lover’s Clock

This clock tower erected September 19, 2008, is to commemorate the sister city relationship establishment between Cobb County, Georgia, and Seongdong-Gu, Seoul, on October 23, 2007.

This 19’ high Seth Thomas clock tower is custom-built by the Electric Time Company in Medfield, Massachusetts. This clock is automatically controlled with GPS satellite synchronization and translucent acrylic dials with fluorescent illumination controlled by a photoelectric cell. American clock maker Seth Thomas (1785-1859) started building clocks in 1815 in Connecticut.

The family of Seongdong-Gu native late Mrs. Pyungin Park (1924-1988) donated the clock. The Park family hopes that the clock will become a symbol of love to its visitors.

왕십리 사랑의 시계탑


이 시계탑은 2007년 10월 23일 서울특별시 성동구와 조지아주 캅 카운티 간 체결한 자매결연을 기념하기 위해 2008 년 9월 19일 설치 하였습니다. 5.84 미터 높이의 4면 세쓰 토마스 시계탑 매사추세츠 주 메드필드에 소재한 일랙트릭 타임사기 주문 제작하였으며. 이 시계의 시간은 GPS 위성으로 자동 조정듸고 시계 핀은 광전지로 형광 빛을 발하는 반투명 아크릴 판으로 되어있습니다 이 시계는 미국의 시계 제작인 세쓰 토마스 (1785-1895) 기 코네티커트에서 1813년에 처음 제작하였으며, 서동구 주민이섰던 ( ) 박평님 여사 (1924-1988)의 가족아 이 시계를 기증하면서 이곳에 오는 모든 사람들에게 사랑의 상징물이 되기를 희망하였습니다.
