There are two boardwalks and an old road where you can have views of the marsh and open water of Juanita Bay to look for waterfowl.

In Kirkland, along Lake Washington, is the Juanita Bay Park. This municipal park has several trails that lead to viewpoints along Juanita Bay, which is part of Lake Washington. There is an old section of road and two boardwalks that you can explore.
The West Boardwalk Nature Trail was traveled on. This boardwalk had good viewpoints of the bay and the marsh. There are two observation decks from this boardwalk, where you can stand or sit quietly to catch a glimpse of a bird.
We identified a great blue heron not far from the platform while we were there. Out in the bay in shallow water, there were many birds swimming out there, but I don't have the experience to identify. There is a sign that has some birds listed as being there, including, Pied Billed Grebe, Mallard, Bittern, American Coot, Blue-Winged Teal, and Red-winged Blackbird.
The path to the boardwalk is paved but it is sloped pretty steeply in some parts. Probably someone in a wheelchair, with help, could get to the boardwalks. Parking is available from 98th Avenue NE/Market Street.
