Jack Webb is best known for playing Sgt. Joe Friday on the two "Dragnet" television series (1951-1959 and 1967-1970). Webb also played Friday on radio prior to the television series.

Webb appeared on the cover of Time Magazine in 1954. He was also a prolific producer and director with long running hits like "Adam-12" and "Emergency!" both of which he created as well.
