In its heyday Piedmont Wyoming in Uinta County west of Fort Bridger was a bustling town. There were the charcoal kilns east of town and the Union Pacific Railroad which passed through the town. Many people lived in Piedmont at one time or another and some of them died there. The Byrne-Hinsdale Family Cemetery, west of the charcoal kilns and southeast of town, was established for members of two of the most prominent families in Piedmont. Piedmont is no more, save for a few tumbled-down log cabins and barns, but the cemetery appears to be well kept, in honor of those interred there. There appear to be 20 to 30 graves in the cemetery but an accurate number is impossible to determine. The cemetery sits well off the road on private property and visitors are definitely not welcome.
