Spanning the Otapapa Stream that runs through Hodges Park, this bridge is made entirely from dressed natural stone.

Hundreds of stones have been skillfully shaped and fitted together in such a way that the arch is self supporting. Built about 1894 by a Mr Cameron, an English stonemason, who also built many stone walls in the area. He was employed by Mrs Sissons, who had 'Moehau' the famous tower house in Kamo built.

This area was once the orchard part of the original 27 acres of land.

Hodges, after whom the bridge and park was named, was a latter owner of the property.
